His whole position is predicated on the "science" saying that the change is man induced. If that is true then well and good. If climate change is happening anyway the sort of "solutions" currently affort eg growing food for fuel will actually produce more injustice than doing nothing. What about the injustice to those scientists who say that CO2 increase follows climate change and not the other way around. They are sidelined and treated as pariahs while the largely self absorbed publicly funded left leaning majority of current paradigm camp followers all sing off the same sheet which is more about keeping their tenure intact than real science.

Cizik takes a divisive approach to truth. By expressing his change of mind as a conversion he implies that those who disagree are somehow immoral. Having looked at this subject and spoken on the matter I can only say that there is a wide range of opinion. If we are to do good Science then we must avoid the temptation to read current events (melting glaciers and icepacks) through the filter of an assumed worldview. The real Scientists deal with the numbers and for the man in the street that is pretty boring. The problem with the numbers is that there are a large number of uncertanties and a lot of politics. Movies like "an Inconvenient Truth" are a case of how NOT to do Science. What disturbs me the most is that so many well qualified Scientists praise the movie because it supports their view and completely ignore the state of how Science is done. Are we destroying the great Christian heritage of Scientific discipline?

The overwhelming majority of RELEVANT scientists in the world agree that climate change is happening and is human induced. To say that there is still significant scientific dissent is misleading - that debate is now over. There is still some 'popular' dissent, and some sectors of the media foster it for obvious reasons (such as The Australian). The question for sceptics is 'what are the negative results of taking action to reverse greenhouse pollution?' Answer - none. So what is the argument to support continued unjust and unloving action (viz. unequitable consumption of resources and the associated waste output)? I suggest it is just that we in the developed world feel threatened by the thought we may to give up our cushy lifestyle.

Let's pretend I'm from Arkansas. Show me. Show me the surveys of ALL scientist that demonstrate that it is an "overwhelming" majority that believe that climate change is human induced, or can be changed by humans. And if all these scientist are absolutely convinced we are causing the climate change, what percentage of them have traded their cars for bicycles, quit using fossil fuels to heat (and A/C) their homes, and have quit eating greenhouse gas producing foods? If they truly believe, then they should lead the effort. I highly doubt a majority of the overwhelming majority have quit driving or turned off their A/C.
