Dr Greg Clarke

Dr Greg Clarke is co-founder and Director (with John Dickson) of the Centre for Public Christianity (CPX). He has directed centres of Christian scholarship at New College, University of New South Wales (Centre for Apologetic Scholarship and Education) and Macquarie University (Macquarie Christian Studies Institute). After a decade working in publishing, Greg completed a doctorate in English Literature at the University of Sydney. His research focuses on the relationship between theology and the arts, with special interest in Australian literature and Christianity. He is currently an Honorary Associate of the Department of Ancient History at Macquarie University in Sydney. Greg is the author of several books, on topics ranging from the Bible to sex to The Da Vinci Code to the end of the world. He splits his time between writing, academic work and public lecturing. Greg lives in Sydney with his wife Amelia and their three children.

 

 Dr John Dickson

Dr John Dickson is
co-founder and Director (with Greg Clarke) of the Centre for Public Christianity. After a career as a singer-songwriter he turned to study, completing a degree in theology and a doctorate in ancient history, specializing in the birth of Christianity. An ordained Anglican minister he is also a Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Ancient History, Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), where he teaches a course on Christian origins. He has hosted two television documentaries airing nationally on Channel 7 (The Christ Files and Life of Jesus) and is a busy public speaker. John lives in Sydney with his wife and three children.

 

Simon Smart

Head of Research and Communications for CPX. A former English and History teacher Simon has since completed a Masters in Christian Studies at Regent College, Canada. He has years of experience writing and editing both academic curricula and popular books. He is the author of Bright Lights Dark Nights - the enduring faith of 13 remarkable Australians. He was the controlling editor of A Spectator’s Guide to World Views. His role at CPX involves research, website content and liaising with our network of scholars.


 

Vaughan Olliffe

Business Manager of CPX. With years of experience managing small businesses, his focus at the Centre is on administration, event planning and website operations.

Hugh Clark

Hugh is the Centre’s media producer.
He is responsible for the filming and editing of studio interviews and pieces to camera along with the CPX podcast.
