Lynn Cohick reflects on the legacy of Jesus in Western culture.
I think the legacy that Christianity has left in the West is an understanding of altruistic love. That’s not something that is common, and I think Christianity has – it’s not given us love, because lots of religions talk about love. But I think the peculiarity of Christian love is this love that looks towards the other, cares for the other. We admire altruistic love here in the West, and I think that pulls from the picture of Jesus.
